AoS Competition - Win an iPad mini

A Scotland without hate, without prejudice, without sectarianism. A competition for 13 – 18 year olds to create a short creative piece which shows what they imagine a Scotland without hate, prejudice and sectarianism would look like.

What do I need to do?

It could be a drawing or painting, a poem or short story, a video or piece of music or whatever your creativity produces. The piece should use the information and resources available on the Action on Sectarianism website as your inspiration and will give you a good overview of the issues.

What could I win?

The prize will be an iPad mini.

The winners will have their work shared on the Action on Sectarianism website and social media channels in the first week after the winner is announced. However, all entries will also be shared in the following weeks.

What are the winning criteria?

• The work should show a Scotland without hate, prejudice and sectarianism.
• Give us an understanding of what hate and prejudice look like and what we can do about it.
• Show out of the box thinking – get creative, that’s what we are looking for.
• It is about the quality of your idea rather than the quality of the art, you don’t need to be a modern Picasso.

Rules:

• All entries must be submitted by 12:00 on 17 March 2017.
• Winner will be announced by 27 March 2017.

• Entries should be sent with a description of the work, the thinking behind it and the full name, age and contact information of the entrant.
• Entrant information will only be used to contact them in reference to this competition or to the Action on Sectarianism website. It will not be passed on to any third parties.
• A short story should be no longer than 1000 words.
• A poem should be no longer than 25 lines.
• Any video or audio content should be 5 minutes or less.
• For drawings or paintings please initially send a photo of the work, which should be no larger than A3 paper size.
• You must have the permission of anyone appearing in your video or photo –we can provide permission forms for you.
• All entries must be original pieces of work and not repurposed or copyright material.
