What is Action on Sectarianism?

YouthLink Scotland, the National Agency for Youth Work has set up the first independent public website designed to challenge sectarianism in Scotland, supported by the Scottish Government.

Accessible on computers, tablets and mobile phones, this website will act as a central gateway to information and resources tackle sectarianism in Scotland by providing tailored user access to four distinct target groups:

Children and Young people

Adults: parents, carers, community groups

AoS Network: teachers, youth workers, academics, policy officers, community activists

 

The first ever Sense over Sectarianism Month of Action will be take place in February 2019 and we are delighted to announce details of our first ever SOS National Competitions and Awards

Four awards will be split over two competitions:

  • Art Display Competition (pupils will be invited to make art about the topic of sectarianism/tackling sectarianism)

  • (1) Primary Award and (1) Secondary Schools Award

  • School Project Competition (submissions to include a 2 minute YouTube video with a 300-400 word overview)

  • (1) Primary Award and (1) Secondary Schools Award

  • This is a national competition will be voted on by public vote via Twitter. Prizes of £250 for each award will be made to the winning schools. Videos will be hosted on the Action on Sectarianism (AoS) YouTube channel.

    Key competition timings:

  • 8th November comps open

  • 25th January comps close

  • 1st February twitter polls open

  • 8th February twitter polls closes at Midday

  • 14th February winners announced
